National Sprint Rankings: To The Top Gravel Goes

With three signature victories during a five-day span capped by his first Kings Royal triumph, David Gravel has returned to the top of National Sprint Car Rankings.

Gravel, who leads the World of Outlaws standings, won Tuesday night’s Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway Park, Thursday’s Joker’s Jackpot at Eldora Speedway and Saturday’s Kings Royal at Eldora.

Gravel now boasts an average finish of 4.675 in 40 starts this season, while having won 12 features.

High Limit Racing point leader Brad Sweet ranks second with a 5.0 average finish in 38 races.

Donny Schatz is now third in the rankings with a 5.308 average finish in 39 starts.

Western Pennsylvania driver A.J. Flick and Tyler Courtney round out the top five.

Ninety-one drivers have reached 20 required starts to be eligible for the national rankings and 746 drivers have run at least one 410 main event this season.

Anthony Macri has become the first driver to reach 50 starts and begin dropping (up to 15) his worst finishes.

Macri and Danny Dietrich remain tied atop the Eastern regional standings.

Cole Macedo holds the lead in the Western standings and Sweet tops of the Mid-America region standings. Cale Thomas leads the Great Lakes region. 

Mark Dobmeier heads the Great Plains region. A.J. Flick continues to pace the PA-OH region and Robbie Price leads the Northwestern stanza.

One hundred and 40 drivers have won the 297 features run so far this season.
