WARRNAMBOOL, Australia – The opening night of the 49th South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic belonged to Lachlan McHugh on Friday at Premier Speedway.
McHugh was able to get past polesitter Ian Madsen midway through the 30-lap feature to collect the checkered flag in an event that was stopped multiple times by caution flags.
Madsen finished second, which allowed him to garner a solid points haul as he looks to secure a starting spot in Sunday’s finale.Â
Corey McCullagh was third, followed by American Carson Macedo in fourth and Jamie Veal in fifth.
Jason Kavenagh was the winner of the Super Rod feature.Â
The 49th South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic continues Saturday at Premier Speedway.
