Macedo Makes Every Lap Matter

ROSSBURG, Ohio — Every point matters. At least during big events at Eldora Speedway.

Carson Macedo made the most of every time he hit the track on Wednesday night and earned the most points during the preliminary events for Thursday’s Eldora Million sprint car race.

Macedo finished second in the second of two 25-lap features and ended up with 590 points. That earned him the pole for the first of six heat races on Thursday that will determine the lineup for the 50-lap $1,002,023 main event.

Coming in with 588 points, Logan Schuchart, who was the fast qualifier for the first main event, will be on the pole for the second heat race on Thursday.

The remaining four drivers earning the pole for one of the six heat races were David Gravel, who won $250,000 in last month’s High Bank Nationals at Huset’s Speedway, Brad Sweet, who won the first of Wednesday’s preliminary features, Kyle Larson and Aaron Reutzel.

Justin Peck will start outside of the front row in the first heat, with second preliminary feature winner Rico Abreu sharing the front row of the second heat with Schuchart. Other outside front-row starters will be Jacob Allen, Gio Scelzi, Brian Brown and Donny Schatz.

The top three in all six heat races will transfer directly to the feature.
