EAGLE, Neb. — Kyle Larson won his third consecutive High Limit Racing Series sprint car feature Tuesday night at Eagle Raceway, but it wasn’t exactly a Sunday drive.
Larson started fourth and inherited the lead when Brent Marks flipped out of the lead with 14 laps remaining in the 40-lap event.
It was the second consecutive week that Marks dropped out of a High Limit race while leading.
Larson then had to survive an epic battle of slide jobs, which thrilled the standing-room-only crowd, with Rico Abreu to claim the $28,023 top prize aboard Paul Silva’s No. 57 sprint car.
Abreu earned $10,000 for finishing second in his Rick Warner prepared No. 24.
Giovanni Scelzi started 17th and romped through the field to finish third.
Anthony Macri and Chase Randall rounded out the top five.
Kofoid was the fast qualifier with a lap of 11.354 seconds over the 40-car field.
