KTJ Seeking New Opportunity

BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Veteran open-wheel racer Kevin Thomas Jr. is seeking a new opportunity.

Thomas has parted ways with Snow Racing after spending the last several months racing winged sprint cars with the team owned by Clayton Snow with the All Star Circuit of Champions.

The Cullman, Ala., native who has been a frequent winner on the USAC non-winged sprint car circuit in recent years before concentrating on winged racing this season, had a best finish of fourth with the All Stars this year.

“I want to thank Clayton Snow for the opportunity to compete in his cars, but I think it was necessary for me to step back and regroup,” Thomas said in a statement on Thursday afternoon. “This isn’t the end for me, for sure. I plan to be with the All Stars as much as I can this season. I enjoy racing with them and that’s where I want to be. I’ve spent the last 24 hours working on putting some things in motion, so we’ll see how it goes.”

Thomas distributed the statement by Twitter with the introduction, “The snow has melted. Excited for a new path.”

Thomas ranks 11th in All Star points and qualified for 10 of the 14 features so far this season.
