Kofoid Moves To Roth Motorsports

BRANDON, S.D. — Buddy Kofoid will be behind the wheel of the No. 83jr sprint car beginning with tonight’s opening night of the High Bank Nationals at Huset’s (S.D.) Speedway.

Racing in a second car for Roth Motorsports, Kofoid will be teammates with current full-time World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series driver James McFadden. The High Bank Nationals offers three nights of $20,000-to-win features, with a whopping $250,000 on the line for Saturday’s winner.

The entry, backed by Toyota USA and Toyota Racing Development, is part of Toyota’s expanded presence in sprint car racing.

Kofoid piloted a Roth entry in select NARC 410 Sprint Car Series races last month. The 21-year-old earned his first World of Outlaws victory at Huset’s last season.

Kofoid joins Roth Motorsports after two weeks driving the Vermeer Motorsports No. 55 sprint car on the All Star Circuit of Champions. He started the season with Crouch Motorsports, winning a World of Outlaws main event, before splitting with the team in early May, and has also driven Bernie Stuebgen’s Indy Race Parts No. 71 in several events.

The two-time USAC national champion also won pair of Indiana Midget Week events driving for Keith Kunz Motorsports with Curb-Agajanian.

With the focus currently on the High Bank Nationals at Huset’s Speedway, the team and Kofoid will announce more details and plans in the coming days.
