BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Washington sprint car standout J.J. Hickle will drive for Brandon Ikenberry and his new Deuce-5 Motorsports team with intentions to run for the Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway 410ci championship.
In total, the team plans to run roughly 55 races scattered across the Midwest from mid March onward.
“I am really excited to work with Brandon and the Deuce-5 team,” Hickle said. “We both have passion for sprint cars and winning. I am very grateful and focused on being as prepared as possible for the Knoxville track championship.”
With the help of primary partners Dirty Air, Certified Septic Service, Windsor Construction, Black Spot Design Lab, The Lumber Lounge and Garage, the team also has plans to hit races scattered across the Midwest.
Ikenberry has looked forward to running a full season for some time, as the COVID-19 pandemic hindered the development of his race team. Last year Scott Bogucki finished eighth in the Knoxville Nationals B main racing Ikenberry’s No. 25 sprint car, one of the few races Ikenberry was able to run last year.
Hickle was recently ranked as the top driver in Sprintcarmania’s 360 power rankings for his runner-up rookie season on the American Sprint Car Series national tour.
Hickle got his start at popular Washington dirt tracks Grays Harbor and Skagit Speedway, winning a championship at Grays Harbor in 2012 and winning the 360 Nationals at Skagit in ’19. He was the ASCS Sprint Week champion in 2020.
Lats year his notable wins were The Hockett/McMillin Memorial, Fred Brownfield Memorial and a sweep of the Devils Bowl Spring and Winter Nationals.
Ikenberry’s team will use Schnee Chassis with Kistler Power engines and the team’s primary partners are Dirty Air, Certified Septic Service, Windsor Construction, Black Spot Design Lab and The Lumber Lounge and Garage.
