INSIDER: Sprint Car Racing Takes Step Forward With Safety

In the 410 sprint car racing world, driver Brian Brown is a bit of an outlier this season.

He isn’t a full-time racer with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, nor is he a High Roller on the High Limit Racing roster.

However, that doesn’t mean he has any less of an opinion on the fundamental structure of each national series — including whether or not the series employs a traveling safety crew.

“I’ve been a big complainer to the Outlaws for lots of years,” Brown said. “When we go to these facilities, as a driver, I never walk over to the ambulance and say, ‘Let me see your safety equipment to make sure I’m gonna be safe in case I get in a bad situation.’”
