deKNOXVILLE, Iowa — Justin Grant was named driver of the year by the North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll voting panel on Friday morning.
Grant won the award last season as well.
The USAC National Sprint Car champion won 11 times with the series, including a three-race sweep of the Kokomo Speedway Smackdown. Grant garnered 10 of the 12 first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll.
Ricky Lewis and Logan Seavey received the other first-place votes.
Those drivers ranked second through fifth, respectively, were Tony Hulman Classic winner and 2023 Indiana Sprint Week champion, Brady Bacon, Knoxville Corn Belt Clash winner Jake Swanson, four-time USAC winner Kyle Cummins and USAC Rookie of the Year, Emerson Axsom.
Three-time USAC winner, C.J. Leary was sixth, followed by Eldora Four Crown winner, Seavey, USAC/CRA champion Brody Roa, Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series champion, Lewis and former Driver of the Year, Robert Ballou.
The Topp Motorsports No. 4 team with Grant at the wheel, earned the Non-Winged Team of the Year Award for the second straight year.
Kasey Kahne Racing’s Brad Sweet won the 410 sprint car driver of the year trophy while Jason Martin was awarded the 360 sprint car division driver of the year. The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame made the announcement on a Facebook livestream.
