PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – Showtime Speedway promoter Robert Yoho has announced details for the Friday night format for the third annual Dave Steele World Non Wing Sprint Car Championship 125, which is scheduled for Feb. 25-26.
All cars will qualify and then the qualifiers will be split into two 15-lap heat races. Odd numbered qualifiers will be in heat one and even numbered qualifiers will be in heat two. An inversion of 0-2-4 will be used to invert the heat races. The finishing order of the heat races will determine the starting lineup for Saturday’s 125-lap, $5,000 to win finale. The results of heat race one will determine the inside row and the heat two results will determine the outside row for Saturday night. Each heat race will pay $1,000 to the winner. Qualifying, heat race, and feature must be run on the same right rear.
There will be several bonuses up for grabs this year in addition to the base purse. Fast qualifier of the event will get a $500 bonus courtesy of Mac Steele, Carol Steele and Lynn Bunn Steele Fisher. Additional $500 bonuses will also be awarded to the leader of lap 33 and 66 courtesy of Showtime Speedway, Jimmy Cope and Dayton Andrews Dodge.
