HATTIESBURG, Miss. — USCS National and Winter Heat Series points leader Davie Franek charged from outside the front row to victory in Friday night’s 25-lap USCS main event at Hattiesburg Speedway.
Franek held off the charges of Mark Smith through five caution periods for the win. Smith followed him across the finish line in the runner-up spot, with Dale Howard in third place.
Fourteen-time USCS champion Terry Gray followed in fourth place, with Matt Covington completing the top five.
USAC midget sensation Kaylee Bryson made her USCS debut and finished 11th.
Thirty cars were on hand for the first night of a two-night event.
