Four Regions, Four Leaders In National Sprint Rankings

CONCORD, N.C. – Brad Sweet extended his advantage at the top of the Mid-America Region standings within the National Sprint Car Rankings after winning the Jason Johnson Classic Saturday night at Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway.

It was Sweet’s third World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series victory of the season.

No driver has yet reached the 20-start plateau required to open the national rankings, but Donny Schatz, Cory Eliason and Gio Scelzi have each made 17 starts to lead the country.

With a victory Friday night at Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway, Justin Peck moved to the top of the standings in the Eastern Region. It was his second triumph of the season.

D.J. Foos, who won Saturday’s feature at Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park, leads the Great Lakes Region standings. Aaron Reutzel tops the Western Region standings by two points over Schatz.

Twenty-four drivers have combined to win the 33 features run and 231 drivers have competed in at least one 410 winged sprint car race this season.
