IMPERIAL, Pa. — A.J. Flick held off Dave Blaney for the victory on the second night of Western PA Speedweek for sprint cars Thursday at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway.
Flick started on the pole, while Blaney steadily worked his way forward from fifth-starting spot and challenged Flick for the point during the closing stages of the 25-lap event.
Flick held on to claim the $3,000 top prize, while Blaney finished second. It was Flick’s fourth victory in his last five starts.
Ryan Smith finished third, with Dale Blaney and Brandon Matus, who was the fast qualifier, rounding out the top five.
Brandon Spithaler won the series opener at Knox Raceway on Wednesday.
