SOUTH AMHERST, Ohio – Dylan Watson won his first Maxima Racing Oils Must See Racing Midwest Lights feature event Saturday night at Lorain Raceway Park.
It was the second consecutive night of competition for the MSR Lights Series during the weekend at LRP. Charlie Schultz won Friday night’s weekend opener.
Joey Wyckoff was the evenings quick qualifier with a lap of 13.462 seconds. Heat wins went to Tim Henthorn and Watson.
The dice roll saw a 6 as the inversion number which put Joshua Sexton on the pole and Jason Rader on the outside.
When the green flag waved, Watson picked off a position on the start, with a outside pass that quickly put him into second position. One lap later Watson overtook the lead and never looked back en-rout to his first career MSR Lights victory over JJ Henes, Rader, Henthorne, and Schultz.
While running in third position, Joshua Sexton spun in turn four coming to the checkered on the final lap and tipped the car on its side. The incident prohibited Sexton a podium finish, forcing him a seventh-place finish.
The finish:
Dylan Watson, J.J. Henes, Jason Rader, Tim Henthorne, Charlie Schultz, Joey Wyckoff, Joshua Sexton, Junior Gould, Lauren DePasquale.
