Eliason Is Bridgeport Sprint Car Star

BRIDGEPORT, N.J. — Cory Eliason claimed the $5,000-to-win 410 winged sprint car feature that headlined Saturday’s Sprintoberfest Sprint Car Weekend program at Bridgeport Motorsports Park.

Driving the familiar Indy Race Parts No. 71, Eliason held off Justin Peck to claim the victory, while Gio Scelzi, Anthony Macri and Kyle Reinhardt rounded out the top five.

The 410 winged sprints will be back on Sunday afternoon to race for $15,000 to win.

Meanwhile the URC winged sprint cars and USAC East Coast non-winged sprint cars were also on the card, running a pair of qualifying races for each division.

Briggs Danner competed in both series and won a qualifier with a wing on with URC and without under the USAC banner. Jordan Thomas topped the other URC event, while Austin Graby grabbed the second USAC East Coast qualifier.
