AMARILLO, Texas – Danny Wood earned a $15,000 prize for winning Sunday’s Lyndon Moss Memorial for 305 sprint cars at Route 66 Motor Speedway.
Jett Hays set a torrid pace to start the feature, but Wood found speed on the outside of turn two during a restart and powered his way to the lead.
Wood survived a last-lap effort from Hays, who managed to pull even coming out of turn four, to score the victory and earn the $15,000 prize.
John Carney II finished third, followed by Joe Wood Jr. and Brett Becker.
The race was originally scheduled for Saturday evening, but a rain storm forced track officials to move it to Sunday afternoon.
