LEBANON, Ore. — Willamette Speedway witnessed the return of Speedweek Northwest for the first time since 2018 on Tuesday night with Colby Copeland claiming the victory.
Driving the Jim and Annette Van Lare entry, Copeland started outside the front row and got off to a hot start at the beginning of the main event. Three total stoppages, two for yellows and one red flag incident, were the only thing to slow the Roseville, Calif., pilot down.
However, despite hitting lapped traffic numerous times, Copeland did not hesitate, nor did he struggle to cut his way through the back end of the lead lap field.
Copeland’s fourth career Speedweek Northwest victory ties him for eighth all-time in series history with Wayne Johnson and Mitchell Faccinto.
Justyn Cox parked the Doug and Kathy Rutz machine on the frontstretch in second place, followed by Tanner Holmes.
Corey Day ended the night in fourth with fifth going to Tyler Thompson.
Cox was quickest in qualifying earlier in the evening.
