SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wa. – After two nights of action in California’s Merced Speedway closed its season in November, Washington-based Cook Motorsports is continuing to prepare for what is shaping to be a busy season in the coming year.
“All of us at Cook Motorsports are excited for the season to come,” team owner Blake Cook said. “We are looking forward to getting our season started off in March in California, and then taking part in a busy season that will see us primarily run in Washington, but we are in the works of acquiring some additional funding that will allow us to run even more in California.”
With the Holiday season approaching, Cook Motorsports has been busy in the team’s shop getting new cars built and engines shipped for refreshment. At times, the team will field two cars at Washington’s Skagit Speedway when the track opens with new ownership next year.
The team is set to run with California youngster, Jayson Bright, who ran with the team during its final event of the season at Merced Speedway, as well as Trevor Cook, who is the son of Blake. At time of press, the team was still finalizing schedules for both cars.
As 410 racing makes a recharge in the Pacific Northwest into next year, Cook Motorsports is also hoping to acquire enough sponsorship to obtain a 410ci engine to participate in some marquee events in Washington and California at the end of the season.
”We have a lot of exciting things in the works, and we are hoping to have more finalized and release a schedule and more plans after the Christmas and New Year holiday,” Cook said. “We are hoping to obtain additional marketing partners for the season ahead, so please reach out if your company is interested in coming on board. We do have a great group behind us already, and I would like to thank them for their support as well as thank all the individuals who contribute throughout each season.”
Cook Motorsports is supported by Absolute Plumbing, Cook’s Contracting, CSR Builders, Shark Racing Engines, Cottage Grove Inn, Primetime Designs, Highline Performance, Les Schwab and Cascade Pizza.
