Chase Johnson’s 8-Win Season In A Variety Of Cars

PENNGROVE, Calif. – Chase Johnson produced another strong season behind the wheel of numerous race cars.

Johnson captured eight feature wins in a midget and non-wing sprint cars – both 410ci and 360ci. He also competed in 410 and 360 winged sprint cars, made his debut in a USAC Silver Crown car and raced an Outlaw kart.

“I thought it was a pretty good year,” he said. “I got to have some great opportunities with some great teams. I feel we were able to be successful with all the teams I did drive for. I’m grateful for the opportunities and was pleased with our results.”

Johnson piloted race cars for Goodnight Racing, May Motorsports, Quinn Racing, Six8 Motorsports, BSL Racing, Josh Ford Motorsports, MC Motorsports, Heffner Racing, Kyle Beilman Racing, McClish Motorsports, Yeley Racing and Johnson Racing this year.

He battled throughout his home state of California and across the country in Pennsylvania, Florida, Indiana and Ohio.

“This was the first year I did quite a bit of USAC National Sprint Cars races and the silver crown event as well,” he said. “I got to do a half a night before that actual night, but to go through an event was surreal.”

Johnson enjoyed a solid outing during his Silver Crown debut and he was victorious during USAC Western States Midgets, Bay Cities Racing Association, AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Cars, Kings of Thunder Non-Wing Sprint Cars and USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series competition this year.

One of his most special weekends came in the middle of September when he swept the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series races at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway and at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, Calif., where he also recorded a Bay Cities Racing Association triumph.

“I think being able to do three wins in about 26 hours was pretty cool,” he said. “We won the sprint car feature on Friday and then the sprint car and midget features on Saturday. That was a special weekend.

“We had a lot of great weekends when we ran second or we were leading and had something happen. To be strong and fast and competitive in all the different types of cars, I’m pretty proud of that. Thanks to everyone for the support and I’m looking forward to building upon this year.”
