MERCED, Calif. – NASCAR Cup Series star Chase Elliott will make his sprint car racing debut during the second annual Merced Midget Madness event at Merced Speedway Nov. 23-24.
Officials from the event confirmed the news Monday evening.Â
Elliott, who made his midget racing debut last year in preparation for his first Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals attempt earlier this year, will drive a 360 sprint car fielded by Tarlton Motorsports on the undercard of the event.Â
The 360 sprint car races are being held in conjunction with the Merced Midget Madness USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series event that headlines the card both nights.Â
In addition to Elliott, his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson will also be in attendance. Larson is set to compete in both the midget and winged sprint car events. He’ll drive the No. 57 winged sprint car owned by Kevin Kozlowski and his own No. 1k midget that he wheeled to victory in January at the Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Okla.
