Bryson To Pull Double Duty At Anderson Speedway

INDIANAPOLIS — Kaylee Bryson will attempt to extend her streak of recent top-10 finishes this weekend as she takes on the high banks of Anderson (Ind.) Speedway for the first time in her career.

Bryson will run Sam Pierce Racing’s (SPR) No. 26 AP Driver Development / SamPierceChevy.com / Logical Systems Racing sprint car in the Gene Nolan Classic on July 8 with the 500 Sprint Car Tour.  

Bryson finished an impressive fifth place after starting 15th in the car at Toledo Speedway in her pavement sprint car debut with the 500 Sprint Car Tour on June 18 to begin a four-race streak of top-10 finishes. She went on to finish eighth at Madison (Wis.) International Speedway after starting 15th in USAC Silver Crown Competition the next day.

Bryson pulled double duty last weekend at Riverside Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., for Dale Howard Racing finishing fifth in her USCS late model debut and eighth in Howard’s No. 47 USCS winged sprint car. 

Bryson will pull double duty again this Saturday, making her debut in the USSA Kenyon MidgetCar Series piloting Jeff Hill’s No. 2 AP Driver Development / SamPierceChevy.com / Logical Systems Racing machine.  

Kaylee and Team SPR will use Saturday’s sprint car event as a preliminary test session for next year’s 76th Annual Little 500. Team SPR was again leading this year’s Lucas Oil Little 500 at the critical half-way point with driver Tanner Swanson setting a blistering pace before mechanical woes sidelined the effort for the second year in a row. 

The Kenyon midget will mark the ninth different type of race car that Kaylee has raced this season.

Cars she’s raced include a KKM owned midget at the Chili Bowl Nationals (transferring to the feature event for a record-setting second year in a row), a Team SPR Trans Am Series TA2 Camaro and an LSI Racing SGT series Corvette at Sebring Int’l Raceway in Feb., Dale Howard Racing (DHR) owned winged sprint cars at various events, Team SPR USAC Silver Crown Cars on pavement and dirt, the Team SPR pavement Sprint Car at Toledo and the DHR late model last week. 

Bryson currently sits sixth in USAC Silver Crown driver points — a mere six points out of third place and leads the Silver Crown Rookie of the Year standings with eight races remaining in the season.Â
