Borrowed Car Wins For Mark Smith

CLEWISTON, Fla. — Pennsylvania sprint car driver Mark Smith stepped into Terry Witherspoon’s No. m43 sprint car Saturday night and captured the finale of the USCS Snow-Free Sprint Car Winter Nationals at Hendry County Motorsports Park.

Smith, a frequent USCS winner in his own No. 1 in recent years, started third and raced to victory in the 30-lap main event ahead of Friday night winner Davie Franek.

Missouri traveler Garet Williamson raced from 11th to finish third, while Chris Martin and Ryan Harrison rounded out the top five.
