Bell Back With Swindell For Two PA Speedweek Races

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Christopher Bell will reunite with Swindell SpeedLab for two races next week during the annual Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek mini-series.

Bell will wheel car owner Kevin Swindell’s familiar No. 39 sprint car during PA Speedweek stops at Lincoln Speedway on Monday, June 28 and Grandview Speedway on Tuesday, June 29.

The news was confirmed via social media Thursday morning.

The pair of events will mark the first time Bell has competed on dirt since racing a midget at the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Okla, in January. They will be Bell’s first winged sprint car races since a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series appearance at Kansas’ Lakeside Speedway on Oct. 16, 2020.

Bell is no stranger to PA Speedweek or to the Swindell SpeedLab team. The Norman, Okla., native has made eight career PA Speedweek starts since 2018, with one win and two top-five finishes during that span. He topped the 2019 PA Speedweek event at Grandview while driving for Swindell.

Bell had previously tipped that he wanted to return to the Swindell SpeedLab team “if the circumstances were right,” making the comments to SPEED SPORT and Sprint Car and Midget in an April 28 interview after revealing that he’d shut down his own No. 21 sprint car operation.

The most recent race featuring Bell in the Swindell SpeedLab No. 39 was an All Star Circuit of Champions-sanctioned event on Aug. 27, 2020 at Grandview, where Bell finished second to PA Posse veteran Danny Dietrich.

PA Speedweek begins Friday night, June 25, at Williams Grove Speedway and runs through July 4 at Selinsgrove Speedway.
