Bates-Hamilton Racing, Cox Team Up For 2023 Campaign

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — After finishing out the year with Bates-Hamilton Racing, Justyn Cox will assume controls of the No. 42x Sprint Car full time in 2023.

“Josh (Bates, co-owner, Bates-Hamilton Racing) and I agree that Justyn is a perfect fit for our team”, Roger Hamilton, co-owner, Bates-Hamilton Racing stated. “He has driven for us several times over the years with solid results, and we are looking forward to seeing what we can do together in 2023. Josh, Scotty, and all our sponsors are excited to welcome Justyn aboard.”

“I’m truly excited and honored to be given the nod as the full-time driver for Bates-Hamilton Racing,” Cox said. “Ever since my reserve roll in 2018, I’ve dreamt of the opportunity to have a full season in the 42x car. During our small amount of sporadic starts together over the years we’ve seemed to always manage some really good results.”

Cox and Bates-Hamilton Racing will place its primary focus on the 24-race NARC 410 Sprint Car schedule, along with selected Placerville Speedway, Sprint Car Challenge Tour and Silver Dollar Speedway shows thrown in the mix.

Last season saw the No. 42x end up eighth in the Northern Auto Racing Club owner standings. The NARC schedule for the upcoming year is filled with major events and brings teams to three different states up and down the West Coast.

“The end of 2022 was a nice test for all of us and I felt pretty comfortable with the team and the car,” Cox said. “I have no doubt that we will be able to compete for a NARC title and wins next year. This is also my first Winged 410 Sprint Car ride and it’s a true honor to have a shot to run the full NARC schedule again. Jim Allen and the group have done a great job and I can tell how much it’s evolved since my first and only year in 2016.”,

“Josh Bates and Roger Hamilton have always been great to me and it’s just awesome for everything to work out in 2023, allowing us the chance to work together on a full-time basis,” Cox elaborated. “Hopefully the off-season goes by fast, because I can’t wait to get it all started.”
