SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Northern Auto Racing Club and Keller Auto Speedway has made the decision to reschedule the Anthony Simone Classic for Friday, Oct. 14.
The original sprint car race date in April was cancelled due to high wind advisories in the Hanford, Calif., area.
The Anthony Simone Classic will now be part of a huge NARC Fujitsu General 410 Sprint Car Series weekend that also features the inaugural Dennis Roth Classic at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway on Saturday, Oct. 15.
The lucrative Simone Classic features both a winged and non-winged sprint car event, both sanctioned by the NARC. Teams must use the same cars for both shows with only limited adjustments allowed to the car.
They have 15 minutes to convert their cars to the non-wing configuration.
With the cancellation of the Aug. 27 show at the Stockton Dirt Track due to a shortage of Hoosier race tires, the NARC sprint cars are dark until Oct. 8 for the Morrie Williams Memorial at Keller Auto Speedway.
With five races remaining on the NARC schedule, Fresno’s Dominic Scelzi is the current championship point leader.
