ATTICA, Ohio — The 38th annual Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Hercules Tire kicks off Friday night at Attica Raceway Park.
Twenty-three drivers have won the Ohio Speedweek title, with Dale Blaney wearing the crown six times, including last year. Blaney won his first Speedweek title in 1995 and also claimed the week-long championship in 2003, ’04, ’06 and ’14.
Frankie Kerr was the Ohio Speedweek champion four times, while Tim Shaffer took the crown three times and Stevie Smith, Chad Kemenah, Joey Saldana and Sammy Swindell are all two-time Speedweek titlists.
Bobby Davis Jr. laid claim to the first Ohio Speedweek title in 1983, with Steve Kinser winning it the following year.
Over 37 years, 232 races have been run, with Dale Blaney also ranking as the all-time leading Ohio Speedweek feature winner with 32 victories.
