Torgersons Team With Mounce/Stout Motorsports For Chili Bowl

Just a month away from the famed Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, brothers Austin and Ashton Torgerson will pilot cars fielded by Mounce/Stout Motorsports at the 38th running of the prestigious event.

“All of us at Mounce/Stout Motorsports are looking forward to the opportunity to run with both Ashton and Austin Torgerson,” Jay Mounce said. “We had been talking about some things for the 2024 season with Danny Torgerson, and this deal sort of started taking shape. It is something we are all excited about.”

Coming off a successful season that saw Ashton pick up a pair of wins aboard a 360ci winged sprint car, as well as run very well in a midget with Tanner Thorson Racing, the Glendale, Ariz. racer looks forward to kicking next season off in Tulsa, Okla. with the intention of running more midget races in the year to come.

The Chili Bowl Midget Nationals marks a return to the prestigious event for the 20-year-old driver after competing at the event back in 2022. While he was away from the event last year, he still spent part of the winter in Oklahoma as he picked up a third-place finish in the non wing portion of the Tulsa Shootout.

Torgerson got his feet wet in winged 360ci sprint car action in California over the course of the season and still managed to sneak in some micro shows where he tallied six feature event wins.

Mounce/Stout Motorsports is coming off an impressive Xtreme Outlaw Midget season that saw Chase McDermand score six feature event wins, a series record for a single season.

“I think the future is bright for these two racers, and I we are glad to be a part of it moving forward,” Mounce added. “We are looking forward to hitting the Expo in January.”

While the Chili Bowl awaits both Torgerson’s, the duo will both be in action at the Tulsa Shootout as a tune up for the upcoming Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
