COLUMBUS, Ind. – Tony Stewart triumphantly returned to his hometown and the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds on Saturday night.
Stewart raced to victory in the All Star Circuit of Champions TQ Midgets event at the quarter-mile clay oval located on the county fairgrounds in Columbus, Ind. It’s the fourth-straight three-quarter midget event Stewart has won at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds dating back to 2017.
The three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion paced qualifying and won his heat en route to winning the 20-lap feature. He finished more than two seconds clear of runner-up Ashlea Albertson at the conclusion of the event.
Cory Clay was third, followed by Matt Lux and Ron Combs.
The series and Stewart are scheduled to return to the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds on Oct. 3.
