MOORESVILLE, N.C. – For the second consecutive season, Rowdy Energy and the Pit Pay App will unite to serve as co-primary sponsors of two-time Chili Bowl Nationals champion Rico Abreu during the 36th Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals on Jan. 10-15 in Tulsa, Okla.
No stranger to the Tulsa Expo quarter-mile, Abreu captured back-to-back Chili Bowl titles for the Toyota-powered Keith Kunz Motorsports organization in 2015 and ’16. Impressive enough, in Abreu’s 11 Chili Bowl starts, the St. Helena, Calif., native has finished inside the top-five on four occasions, the most recent occurrence being a fifth-place result in 2020. Abreu qualified for the 2021 Chili Bowl A-Main and was scored 16th after starting fifth.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Rico in 2022. He is a great fit for Rowdy Energy…on the track he’s one of the most exciting drivers in all of dirt racing and gets rowdy both on and off the track,” Kyle Busch said, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and founder of Rowdy Energy. “Rico is a great ambassador for our brand, helping us create awareness of our product which is why we chose to showcase our newest flavor, Blue Raspberry, in the Chili Bowl this year, which is now available nationwide at 7-Eleven.”
“It’s awesome to see the Pit Pay brand on Rico’s Chili Bowl Car along with Rowdy Energy for 2022,” Frank Bolter added, president of Pit Pay App. “Our technology was developed to bring a major league event experience to grassroots motorsports, Rico and Kyle both do a lot to promote and short track racing, and we are thrilled to align with their mission of growing and improving the sport. We will be introducing some new technology and tools for the industry in 2022, and the Chili Bowl is the perfect way to get the year kicked off!”
“I couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to once again represent Rowdy Energy and Pit Pay App at the Chili Bowl. This is an event everyone wants to be a part of, and an event everyone wants to win. To have Pit Pay and Rowdy Energy by my side again only adds to the fire and I’m ready to earn another Driller,” Abreu said. “Staying hydrated and maintaining focus are two important elements of success and Rowdy Energy is the key to each of those. It’s also important that we continue to increase the awareness of Pit Pay’s efficiency for grassroots racers and tracks. It’s valuable technology and I look forward to having the opportunity to utilize it at more and more tracks across the country.”
