Kyle Busch Among Tulsa Shootout Entries

TULSA, Okla. – Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is set to tackle the Tulsa Shootout inside the Tulsa Expo Center for the first time this weekend.

Busch, 36, will compete in four of the six divisions that are competing during the 37th running of the Tulsa Shootout. He’s slated to compete in Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, Winged A-Class and Stock Non-Wing in entries fielded by veteran Joe B. Miller.

In addition, his 6-year-old son Brexton Busch will be competing in the Junior Sprint class.

Busch isn’t the only NASCAR Cup Series star taking part in the Tulsa Shootout. His Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Christopher Bell, is also competing in Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, Winged A-Class and Stock Non-Wing.

Bell previously picked up a victory in the Winged Outlaw division at the Tulsa Shootout in 2018.

Sheldon Creed, who captured the 2020 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship and is advancing to the NASCAR Xfinity Series next season with Richard Childress Racing, is also entered to compete in Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, Winged A-Class and Stock Non-Wing.

Another NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion, 2018 champion Brett Moffitt, will also compete in the Tulsa Shootout. He’s entered in Non-Wing Outlaw, Winged A-Class and Stock Non-Wing.

If any of these four NASCAR stars hope to take home a Golden Driller trophy, they’ll have to beat some of the best dirt racers in the country. More than 1,400 entries have been received across six divisions, a record for the event. The previous record for entries was 1,397.

Among the marquee dirt racing entries are reigning All Star Circuit of Champions champion Tyler Courtney, reigning USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series champion Brady Bacon and reigning Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series champion Blake Hahn.

Other notable entries include Jason McDougal, who won three features during the 2018 edition of the event, Logan Seavey and Kevin Thomas Jr.

Practice for the Tulsa Shootout begins Tuesday, with racing scheduled to begin Wednesday. The event concludes Saturday with six main events headlining the action.
