Klaasmeyer Returns To Kunz For Chili Bowl

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Keith Kunz Motorsports has confirmed Tucker Klaasmeyer as the team’s first driver for the 35th edition of the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals on Jan. 11-16 in Tulsa, Okla.

Klaasmeyer, who shifted his focus from midgets to winged sprint cars this year, returns to the Kunz team that he drove for during the 2020 edition of the Chili Bowl.

Last year Klaasmeyer finished fourth in the Friday preliminary feature before advancing to the Chili Bowl main event on Saturday, where he earned a 10th-place finish aboard the No. 27 entry for Keith Kunz Motorsports.

He also raced his way into the Chili Bowl main event in 2019, finishing 13th aboard the same No. 27 entry fielded by Keith Kunz Motorsports. He also competed for Keith Kunz Motorsports at the Chili Bowl in 2018, but failed to qualify for the main event.

“Really looking forward to being back in a Keith Kunz Motorsports car. It’s always nice to be in a familiar place with great people behind you going into Chili Bowl,” Klaasmeyer said. “I know what that team brings and that’s where I want to be.”

Klaasmeyer, who won the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League title driving for Keith Kunz Motorsports in 2018, is the first of an expected 10 entries from the Keith Kunz Motorsports stable for the 2021 edition of the Chili Bowl.
