FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Following similar announcements for the midget and North Baltimore Custom Cuts winged 600cc midgets, a best-appearing car award has been announced for the LiUNA (Laborer’s International Union of North America) non-winged 600cc midgets at this year’s 23rd Rumble in Fort Wayne.
NAPA Auto Parts of Bryan, Ohio, has posted a $250 cash award that will be presented to the best-appearing car in that division, as voted upon by the fans through a charity component throughout the event Dec. 17 and 18.
This year’s program will be live streamed in its entirety via Pit Row TV and SPEED SPORT TV.
“Being a lifelong race fan and a huge follower of the Rumble in Fort Wayne, it really caught my eye when I saw that the midgets and winged 600cc’s had best-appearing sponsors, but not the non-winged 600cc’s,” commented Duane Hancock, co-owner of the Bryan NAPA location. “This was a great opportunity for us to jump on board and support such a great traditional event.”
Race fans watching the LiUNA non-winged 600cc midgets race around the purpose-built one-sixth-mile concrete oval inside the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum will have the opportunity to vote for the one machine that best catches their eye as the best-appearing and cast a ballot accordingly.
It is suggested that all ballots be accompanied with a free-will donation to the Community Harvest Food Bank of the Fort Wayne area.
The winner will be announced Saturday evening as the 23rd Rumble in Fort Wayne presented by Jason Dietsch Trailer Sales wraps up its two-day run.
The LiUNA non-winged 600cc midgets, North Baltimore Custom Cuts winged 600cc midgets and midgets will be joined by multiple classes of go-karts including the Economy Auto Parts 330 Clones, Coe Heating & Air Conditioning Junior 3, and everageauto.com wedge karts. Six divisions of Baker Racing Engines quarter midgets will round out the busy action with full racing programs each day.
Advance tickets are available through any Ticketmaster outlet or at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum box office and on race day.
