TULSA, Okla. – The 37th Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout is well past the halfway point following another busy day of racing Thursday inside the Tulsa Expo Center.
All 172 heat races across six divisions have been completed, with E, D and C features also run in multiple divisions. In total, 220 races have been completed in the first two days of competition.Â
The stock non-winged and junior sprint divisions wrapped up their respective heat races on Thursday. Among the stock non-winged heat winners were Jade Avedisian, Michael Faccinto, Cale Coons, Trey Marcham, Cole Bodine, Ricky Thornton Jr., Ryan Timms, Brett Moffitt and Joe B. Miller.
Marcham was the top point earner in stock non-winged after coming from last in his 10-car heat to pick up the victory. Winning his eight-lap heat race from last starting position earned him a maximum of 145 points.
In addition to heats for the stock non-winged and junior sprint divisions, competitors in non-winged outlaw, winged outlaw and A class contested E, D and C features Thursday.
While several drivers kept their Golden Driller hopes alive via the alphabet soup, several others saw their Tulsa Shootout dreams end.Â
Racing continues Friday with more alphabet soup as well as 10-lap qualifiers for all six divisions that will help set the starting lineups for Saturday’s main events as well as B features.
