HANOVER, Pa. — Anthony Macri swept around pole-sitter Chase Dietz on the 21st lap and drove to his first victory of the season in Saturday afternoon’s sprint car matinee at Lincoln Speedway.
Macri started fourth and consistently chased Dietz during the non-stop, 30-lap affair on the three-eighths-mile dirt track.
Macri banked $4,000 for winning the second main event of the season at Lincoln.
“I could put this thing anywhere I wanted on the race track,” Macri said. “I made a few mistakes and the car was good enough that it didn’t look like I made a mistake. All the hard work during the winter paid off.”
Macri said he wasn’t feeling well earlier in the day.
“I felt like crap all night. I puked this morning and I wasn’t feeling too good at all,” he relayed in victory lane. “But I didn’t get too winded there for 30 laps.”
Stutts came home second, with Dietz third.
Danny Dietrich romped from 16th to finish fourth, while Buddy Kofoid raced from 12th to round out the top five.
Forty-one cars were on hand for the event.
