Stambaugh Stomps North Alabama Foes

TUSCUMBIA, Ala. — Bettering his finish from Friday by two, Ohio’s Max Stambaugh rolled into victory lane Saturday night with the ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints at North Alabama Speedway.

Max’s first career victory with the ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints, the first half of the feature was spent chasing Mississippi’s Dale Howard. Working into traffic just past the mid-point of the feature, Stambaugh kept pace with Howard before moving top shelf through turns three and four for the pass on lap 16.

Clear of slower traffic, Stambaugh wheeled the Smith Motorsports No. 71h to a 2.526-second margin of victory.

A family affair for the runner-up spot, Jan Howard would take over the position on lap 18. Dale Howard would end up third, with Brad Bowden fourth. Picking up seven positions, Lane Whittington made it to fifth.
