TASMANIA — David Reynolds set the pace on Friday at Symmons Plains Raceway as the Supercars Championship opened practice for this weekend’s NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint, which can be seen live on SPEED SPORT 1.
The Team 18 driver recovered from an early-session engine misfire to top the session with a 51.1376-second lap as Chevrolet drivers swept the top nine positions.
“Really ecstatic for everyone. Like, this is the first round in a long time, both cars have been really quick,” Reynolds said. “Everyone’s done a really good job to prepare the cars to get them to here. Everyone’s ecstatic. Awesome to start the weekend.”
James Golding was second quick, with Jack Le Brocq, Cameron Hill and Mark Winterbottom filling the top five.
Point leader Will Brown was ninth on the speed charts.
