Dinan & Foley Put BMW In Victory Lane

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Michael Dinan and Robbie Foley put the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW F13 M6 GT3 in victory lane with the GT World Challenge America series to close out a busy weekend of racing Sunday at Road America.

The victory was the first win for the pairing, team and manufacturer this season. The No. 96 pair utilized smart pit work, pitting for the required driver change first when the pit window opened. The gamble helped put the team in contention, but it was bad luck from another team that ultimately helped them earn the victory.

In the closing stages of the race the race saw the No. 33 Mercedes-AMG shared by Philip Ellis and Russell Ward in the lead, with Ward at the wheel. However, an early pit call ended up biting the team as the car ran out of gas on lap 39 and Ward was forced to head pitside for a splash of fuel.

That was exactly what the No. 96 team needed as Dinan roared into the lead and took the checkered flag 4.6 seconds clear of the No. 6 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 driven by Corey Lewis and Giovanni Venturini.

The Pro-Am class victory went to Fred Poordad and Jan Heylen, who crossed the line third overall. The AF Corse Ferrari of Conrad Grunewald and Jean-Claude Saada triumphed in the Am category.
