Glory Days: Eldora Win Gives Gaerte Title

At one point this season, it looked as if Rocky Hodges was going to run off and hide with the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car title. Joe Gaerte not only found Hodges’ hiding place Saturday night at Eldora Speedway, but pushed him out and took the season points crown for the second year in a row.

Gaerte won the 30-lap season finale and broke the deadlock he had forced in the last six races, winning the points title by 14 markers over Hodges, who finished fifth.

It was the fourth victory in the last five races for Gaerte, who won last year’s All Star title.
