Dave Darland’s career record in USAC competition ranks as one of the best in the modern era, but until Oct. 19, 2005, Darland had never won at Winchester Speedway.
Darland passed Ron Gregory on the 18th lap of the Rich USAC Valvoline National Sprint Car Series feature to post his first victory on the historic high-banked half-mile oval.
Dave Steele finished second, ahead of Gregory, point-leader Levi Jones and Josh Wise.
