Marcus Smith, president and CEO of Speedway Motorsports, has joined the growing list of featured speakers during the 3rd Annual Race Industry Week, Nov. 28 to Dec. 2.
Marcus G. Smith was named president and CEO of Speedway Motorsports in 2015, after previously holding the position of president and COO since 2008. Prior to that, Smith served as Executive Vice President of National Sales and Marketing for Speedway Motorsports from 2004-2008.
He joined the company in 1996 as a sales associate at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Growing up in the motorsports business, Smith worked summers on the grounds crew with the Charlotte Motor Speedway operations department and washed cars at a family car dealership. Smith worked in all areas of the business from weed-pulling to ticket-selling and business management.
Additionally, Vice President of GM Performance and Motorsports Jim Campbell, Global Director of Ford Performance Mark Rushbrook, President of Toyota Racing Development USA David Wilson and SVP of Garage Team Mazda Mo Murray will be joining Race Industry Week as speakers.
President and CEO of SRO Motorsports America Greg Gill and Crandon International Raceway Promotor Marty Fiolka will also be appearing as featured speakers.
