The Scuderia AlphaTauri Formula 1 team has undergone a few changes over the offseason, chiefly including a name rebrand.
Red Bull’s sister operation will now be known as Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team — or, RB for short.
This is the third time in the team’s history that it has experienced a name change. When the operation joined the F1 grid in 2006, it competed under the name Toro Rosse, which translates to Red Bull in Italian. It was then renamed to AlphaTauri in 2020 to focus on promoting the company’s fashion brand.
Under the new leadership of Laurent Mekies, who was formerly Ferrari’s Deputy Team Principal and Racing Director, the RB team will hit the F1 grid in 2024 with renewed purpose.
Drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda will lead RB’s charge from the cockpit.
