Ty Gibbs Wins Pole For NASCAR Xfinity Race At COTA

Ty Gibbs won the pole for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver earned the second pole of his career.

Joining Gibbs on the front row is Ross Chastain, who is driving for DGM Racing. It is the best qualifying effort for the team. 

All three DGM Racing drivers – Chastain, Alex Labbe and Preston Pardus – qualified in the top 10.

The top five was completed by Cole Custer, AJ Allmendinger and Pardus.

The DNQs for the race were Jesse Iwuji, Brennan Poole, Gar Robinson and Josh Williams.

Practice

Qualifying was preceded by a 20-minute practice session.

Pardus was fastest in the session, which ended under a caution due to debris from Poole’s car.

Pardus posted a top speed of 89.703 mph.

“That’s actually really shocking,” Pardus told Fox Sports.

He was followed by Sheldon Creed at 89.578 mph.

The top five was completed by Alex Labbe, Noah Gragson and Ty Gibbs.
