RCR To Start 1-2 In Talladega

Richard Childress Racing Chevrolets will own the front row during Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

Austin Hill, driver of the No. 21, will start from pole position while the No. 2 of Sheldon Creed will start alongside him for the 113-lap Ag-Pro 300. Hill, who has already won three races this season, set the fastest lap during qualifying on Friday night with a 52.483-second lap (182.459 mph) around the 2.66-mile tri-oval. Creed was .239 seconds behind.

Last week’s winner John Hunter Nemechek qualified third in the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, logging a 52.843-second lap. Jordan Anderson Racing’s Parker Retzlaff and Big Machine Racing’s Jade Buford completed the top five.

Anthony Alfredo, Justin Allgaier, Jeb Burton, Daniel Hemric and Brett Moffitt qualified in the top 10.

The Xfinity Series will commence their ninth race of the season on Saturday at 4 p.m. (ET).
