Rain Halts Xfinity Practice & Qualifying, Allgaier On Pole

RICHMOND, Va. — Rain continues to wreak havoc on the East Coast, with the latest culprit being the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Richmond Raceway.

Saturday morning’s Xfinity Series practice and qualifying has been cancelled, placing JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier on the pole for the ToyotaCare 250, which is scheduled to take the green flag this afternoon.

The lineup is set based on NASCAR’s performance metric system, placing Allgaier on pole alongside Phoenix Raceway winner Sammy Smith.

JRM’s Sam Mayer will start third, with Stewart-Haas Racing’s Riley Herbst and Kaulig Racing’s Daniel Hemric rounding out the top five.

Kyle Weatherman and Dawson Cram failed to qualify for the event based on owner points.
