Nemechek Added To JGR Xfinity Program

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Joe Gibbs Racing has announced the addition of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor John Hunter Nemechek to the team’s NASCAR Xfinity Series program.

Nemechek, who drives for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series, will race in three Xfinity Series races this year for Joe Gibbs Racing in the No. 54 Toyota Supra.

His first race with the team will be Sept. 17 at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, followed by races at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, on Oct. 16 and the finale at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Ariz., on Nov. 6.

Nemechek, who turned 24 Friday, has made 52 Xfinity Series starts during his career, including one this season for Sam Hunt Racing. He has one Xfinity Series victory, which came at Kansas Speedway in 2018 while driving for Chip Ganassi Racing. 

This season Nemechek is racing full-time in the Camping World Truck Series for Kyle Busch Motorsports. He’s earned three victories and currently leads the series standings.Â
