Homestead Winner Snider To Lead Vegas Xfinity Field

LAS VEGAS – After earning his first NASCAR Xfinity Series victory last weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Myatt Snider was awarded the pole for Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Snider received the pole courtesy of the highest metric score among the 40 cars entered to compete.

Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.

Snider earned the pole with a metric score of 2.85, factoring in his Homestead victory, the 11th-fastest lap from the event and his runner-up seeding in the point standings after three of 33 races this season.

Defending series champion and current point leader Austin Cindric will join Snider on the front row, followed by Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Daniel Hemric and Brandon Jones on row two.

Another pair of teammates – the Kaulig Racing duo of Jeb Burton and Justin Haley – start fifth and sixth, respectively. Brett Moffitt, Jeremy Clements, Josh Berry and A.J. Allmendinger complete the top 10 starters.

One week after a heartbreaking defeat at Homestead, JR Motorsports driver Noah Gragson rolls off 34th in the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro. Gragson is a Las Vegas native.
