BRISTOL, Tenn. — Ty Gibbs stormed to his sixth pole of the season, ahead of Friday’s Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Gibbs edged out JR Motorsports’ Josh Berry by 0.062 hundredths of a second.
Behind Berry, was a Chevrolet brigade of Justin Allgaier, points leader A.J. Allmendinger and Sam Mayer.
Allmendinger holds a 38-point advantage over Gibbs in the standings, as the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular season ends Friday night.
On the playoff bubble, Landon Cassill holds a 19-point advantage over Ryan Sieg for the final playoff spot.
Cassill starts 16th, while Sieg will roll off 10th on the grid at the drop of the green flag.
