Conor Daly Joins Alpha Prime For Indy Xfinity Run

Conor Daly is back in NASCAR this season, though this time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Daly will pilot the No. 44 Chevrolet Camaro for Alpha Prime Racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course on August 12 in the Pennzoil 150.

“Really appreciate Alpha Prime Racing giving me a chance to race at my home track at IMS on brickyard weekend,” Daly said in a social media post. “Will be fun to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series again! Could still use some associate sponsors on this deal so hit us up if you want to be involved!”

Previously, Daly competed as a full-time driver in the NTT IndyCar Series for Ed Carpenter Racing. Daly and ECR parted ways in June. Since then, Daly has kept busy. Shortly after his departure at ECR, the 31-year-old competed in Nitrocross at MidAmerica Outdoors in Jay, Okla.

One month later, Daly raced for Niece Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, where he finished 18th.

His most recent on-track action came in the IndyCar Series, where Daly filled in for an injured Simon Pagenaud in Meyer Shank Racing’s No. 60 Honda at Mid-Ohio and Iowa Speedway.

Daly also competed in February’s Daytona 500 at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway, where he competed for The Money Team Racing. Aboard the No. 50 Chevrolet, Daly finished 29th.
