Allmendinger Is Texas Xfinity Series Polesitter

FORT WORTH, Texas – A.J. Allmendinger will lead the NASCAR Xfinity Series field to the green flag when the Alsco Uniforms 250 kicks off Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway.

Almendinger, the driver of the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro for Kaulig Racing, was awarded the pole position courtesy of the highest metric score among the 40 cars entered to compete.

Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.

Allmendinger earned the pole with a metric score of 1.5, factoring in his recent win at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the second-fastest lap from that event and his runner-up seeding in the point standings after 13 of 33 races this season.

He’ll be joined on the front row by his Kaulig teammate Justin Haley, with Brandon Jones, Xfinity Series point leader Austin Cindric and Daniel Hemric filling out the top five.

Starting sixth through 10th will be Michael Annett, Brandon Brown, Jeb Burton, Ryan Sieg and Alex Labbe.
