DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Martin Truex Jr. of Joe Gibbs Racing won stage two of Sunday’s 64th Daytona 500, sweeping both stage wins in NASCAR’s biggest race.
Unlike the first stage, which ended under caution because of a major crash on the backstretch, stage two ran green flag for all 65 laps.
Truex was in front when the green checkered flag waved to end the second stage. He passed Brad Keselowski coming out of turn four to take the stage victory. His No. 19 Toyota was .570 seconds ahead of Joey Logan. Bubba Wallace was third followed by Keselowski and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Others collecting stage points included Austin Cindric, Chris Buescher, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson and Todd Gilliland.
After the end of stage two, much of the field came down pit road for service with 67 laps left in the 200-lap scheduled distance of the Daytona 500.
Following pit stops, Keselowski is the race leader.
